How To Backup Your Data to CD

Windows Vista

Click the button

When the Backup is completed you will receive a confirmation.
Click YES to view the results.

Windows will display your default backup folder
1. Select the folder(s) to burn to CD
2. Click the BURN button and follow the Windows instructions

Note: It is possible to add files to a previous used backup CD but it is recommended that you start with a fresh CD occasionally the better protect your data from loss or burn errors.
 


Windows XP

Click the small arrow next to the Backup button and choose "To CD (Windows XP)"

You will receive a message explaining the process and what to do if it doesn't work automatically.
Read the message and click YES.

A message balloon will appear near your task bar confirming that you have files waiting to burn to CD.
Click the balloon and follow the instructions to finish the process.


Windows 95 / 98 / Millennium / 2000

 

Click the button

When the Backup is completed you will receive a confirmation.
 

Click YES to view the results.
Windows will display the DataBk folder

Burning Option 1.
On earlier versions you will need to use the burning software that came with your CD burner.
Normally the process with your own software (Nero, Easy Cd creator, etc.) requires you to -

  1. Select the "Data disk" option
  2. Add files and folders - in this case the folder is "My documents/kintraks/DataBk/"
  3. Insert a disk and click the Burn button

Burning Option 2.
On later versions of Windows you can use the Windows burning engine to complete the process -
Right click on the folder you want to burn and choose SEND TO > [your CD burner drive letter]

Follow the windows instructions to complete the process
